COURAGEOUS
WOW! The movie "Courageous" is a must see for all!
This movie is based on men being called to be the God fearing and honoring men. It takes you through their journey of making a pact to keep each other accountable to be the men God wants them to be. It's not about just be a good enough father or good enough man, it's being so much more. Living the life God has called you to live is not always easy but it will be fulfilling. This movie reminds you life is so precious and we are not guaranteed tomorrow. I really can not say enough about this movie! I am so thankful for Sherwood Baptist Church in Georgia for creating family films that encourage us to (re)evaluate our lives and live for God!

To get a Mac or not??
I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop...it's about 5 years old and possibly on its last leg. For the past year it has been giving me scares....It is struggling to survive! It has a hard time starting up. If I can get it to start, it runs just fine. I rely on my computer so much, almost as much as my phone. Well seeing how my computer will not start at the moment, I'm trying to decide on whether to buy a pc or Mac. I think I'm leaning towards a Mac. I've heard nothing but great things about macs. Any suggestions/recommendations???

**FACEBOOK trends to look out for
I can thank my friend, Hilary, for making me obsessed with "Jewelry Nut Auctions" and "Accessory Auctions." These 2 pages on facebook auction off some cute accessories while making it fun. Sometimes there are limited supplies so you have to be the first to type your name in to claim it! I bid/won a turquoise scarf with my initials monogrammed on it! LOVE IT!
I definitely recommend everyone check it out!
Also, I recently came across a page "Wrapped In Him." A high schooler, Kyndall Miller, created this page in hopes that people would help her raise enough money to go on a mission trip to the Amazon River. She is making these super cute bracelets and selling them.

Struggling?
We all face struggles in life at some time or another. Sometimes it may happen out of the blue, a lot at once, it may slowly set in, or they can happen so fast it totally catches you off guard. Lately I have had quite a few things weighing me down. I'll have high moments and then low moments. I am usually a pretty happy person but when you have something that is placed on your shoulders, then one more, then one more...even if it's small, they all add up! I hate that I let these things take over my personality, my appetite, my outlook/perspective, my role...MY LIFE. I must admit that I make it worse by dwelling on these things. These few things have led to some emotional breakdowns....which always makes you feel even more like a girl. The good thing about struggles, though, is they can help form you into a stronger/better person. (although they are not fun to tackle in the meantime) I strongly believe that even though I may feel I'm struggling at times, I am a work in progress. God is STILL molding and making me into the person I should and will be. None of this can amount to the promise he has in store for all of us. I thank God for his word to comfort and guide me when I feel I am in a storm.
"The Lord is my light and salvation-whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life-whom shall I be afraid?" Psalm 27:1
"Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun." Psalm 37:3-6
"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7
The verse that I have difficulty with but I should really strive to focus on is:
"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough troubles of its own." Matthew 6:34
This post today is what has been heavily on my heart and hopefully will be a reminder there is a silver lining to anyone else who may be struggling with anything. I know I will get through/over these things because God reminds us he works for the good of those who love him. It's amazing to me the people: friends/family God puts in your life to comfort and encourage you. In the meantime, I will do my best to be patient and be the person God wants me to be.

Beauty Buys and more...
For the past month I've been trying not to spend a whole lot of money. I've done pretty well, but now I've been having the itch to shop. Although I haven't gone crazy and bought tons, I thought I would share the items I did purchase because I'm a fan.
This spray not only protects your hair, but helps hold the style you create. |
It really worked...although I think I should have used a smaller curling iron. It held without a hard/stiff texture to my hair. |
I really didn't even need to touch up my hair the next morning getting ready for church. |
Also I bought some new blush...still testing it out but I'm thinking I'm a liking...
I really like Biore cleansing products because I feel it really takes make-up off.
On other notes:
A prayer request was answered....My dad was offered a job!!! yay! He started about a week ago and he really likes the man he is working for. We are so thankful this opportunity was offered because my dad really does enjoy his work. We will continue to pray about his job situation because we do not know how long this one will last. We hope when this job is done another one will present itself.
WHITNEY HOUSTON DIED!! OMG! I'm so sad! Although Whitney has not been on the right track the past few years, I grew up LOVING her! She had an amazing voice and I'm so sad she has passed away. I was hoping she would completely turn her life around and make a comeback! I'm hoping they will do a tribute to her on the Grammys tonight....we will see.

Exercise: Needing Motivation??
Growing up I have always been very active. I have a bachelor degree in Community Health (aka Exercise Science) and I have an associate degree in Physical Therapy Asst. You would think I would be a fitness guru....I'm not. The past 2 years I have had a hard time staying consistent in working out....either I am too tired or go through phases of having a lot to do. It is soo easy to push exercise out of the way. I hate this because when you get out of a routine, it is hard to get back into it, especially if you do not have an accountability partner. I let my membership at the gym expire this past October and tried to exercise on my own...haven't been too successful. Lately I have had the best intentions of exercising, but the hardest time following through with them. Recently my friend, Britney and I made a pact to workout 3 times a week. We plan on exercising 2 days a week together for at least 30 min. The 3rd day is on our own. Our goal that we are aiming for is...
Okay so we may not end up looking exactly like these girls, but it's a good goal to strive for, huh? Our workouts may vary, but this past week I came up with a routine that definitely gets your heart pumping. I thought I would share it:
Okay so we may not end up looking exactly like these girls, but it's a good goal to strive for, huh? Our workouts may vary, but this past week I came up with a routine that definitely gets your heart pumping. I thought I would share it:
Workout
Treadmill 5 min.
(Either jog or walk at a fast pace)
15 sec increments for 5 min.
-jumping jacks
-squat jumps
-high knee running in place
-creep walk front/back
Treadmill 5 min.
(run at fast pace 30 sec., walk 30 sec. repeat)
15 sec increments for 5 min.
Core Routine for 30 sec. each
-basic crunches
-bicycle crunches
-flutter kicks
-bridges
(repeat)
It may not be the best and longest workout routine, but it's a start. Like I said, if you do them all with good form, it will not only get your heart pumping, it will tone too. I have a hard time doing one activity for a long time because I get bored and then want to quit early, so I do best with a interval workout routine. I will let you know if we find a fun,yet good exercise dvd in our process.
